TbirdX
Hi all, what are folks using for degreasing the trigger groups. I have a Maxus and it's cleaning time and I'm wondering what I should do with the trigger group regards degreasing and lubing. Cheers Edited December 27, 2011 by TbirdX
utectok
I drop mine in some petrol and wash it with a paint brush before a spray of gun oil or acf-
COACH
Yep! wash with petrol, white spirit etc. Then run it under the hot tap for a minute afterwards, shake it out and then drown it in Napier oil/cleaner or such like but not WD40 as it will eventually clog up with that. I've always done mine like this and have never ever had any trouble with any of my drop out triggers.
kent
I drop the trigger group from my SX3 about every third fowling trip(depending on state of gun). Run it under the hot tap scub it with a toothbrush let it dry then apply a lightish spay of oil. The lot drops out with the shell lifter and makes it easier to refit the action to the recoil spring after cleaning and do all the action body internally. About 1/2 hrs work on kitchen table
P~MX
I clean all my guns from my Perazzi to my Maxus with spray brake cleaner, get it from car parts shops for about £3 a can and it'll last you months, I just pull back the breach on my Maxus and flush it out until it runs clean, it dry's off in 15 seconds max ready for a light spray of Brunox. ciaran
I just lightly spray a toothbrush with oil and give it a scrub, then allow it to dry!
