Dead-Eyed Duck
I used to have an Octavia 4 x 4 1.8 petrol estate - this was a company car and I must have done 130,000 miles or so with it. The 4 x 4 came in very handy when travelling on muddy tracks and when lamping on pasture fields. The 1st gear ratio was a little high, otherwise no problems at all - I never got stuck in it. It had standard road tyres, and as long as you use a fair degree of common sense then you should have no issues - the car was totally reliable. captainstoopid
I may be a little late on this conversation but thought that I might put my two pennies worth in all the same. We have an Octavia 4wd 2.1l Diesel (05 reg). It has been up and down muddy/frozen/wet Lincolnshire farm tracks countless times, no probs at all. It may not be a Landy, but for pootling around farms it does the job. + the boot is cavernous. Fab car
