mad1
Possibly the best thing to do is ask on here if you could tag along and watch them work before you get one yourself it can be harder and more expensive than you think. Also you might not enjoy it Put a post on the wanted section they are a good bunch in here ( most of the time ) good luck Edited January 2, 2012 by mad1

Scully
Was down your way last week;at Malmo. There are plenty of good books on the subject of ferreting;a good one is 'Complete Guide to ferrets' by James McKay,and no doubt if you had a look on Amazon you'd find DVD's on the subject also. You'll probably find info' regarding making your own nets on there also, which is easy and means you can create nets of sizes to suit yourself, and not jsut have to make do with those commercially available.Have fun. Thefisheroffish
Thx! I'll try, but being 14, is there any restrictions like licenses? Or age? I'll look on amazon, but may not be able to buy... But thats whats Youtube is for!
Scully
No restrictions such as licenses etc.The only thing you may have trouble with is finding some land on which to ferret, but in my experience farmers are more prone to look kindly on keen teenagers with ferrets than unshaven scruffy adults with shotguns/rifles!You're actually in an area which has loads of opportunities. I'd be very sutprised if someone in Malmo guns didn't know of somewhere you could possibly get a foot in the door, and a very good 'opener' of doors is to get involved in beating. There must be dozens of shoots in your area.Other than that it's a matter of knocking on doors. If you know any postmen/women,ask them to put out feelers for you whilst on their rounds.Good luck. If you get stuck for ferrets at some time in the future,PM me,I always give kittens away, and if I have any spare you'll be welcome to one or two. Thefisheroffish
Thanks Scully! Thanks Mad1! And as to knocking on peoples doors, I only have 3 neighbors within 2 miles, and they run businesses... Like holiday homes, And poultry farms... But I think that there are shoots, as we hear gunfire all day from the start to the end for pheasant season... So I'll Have a look... It'll be fun hopefully, and Do you know any shoots around me? Names if possible...
Scully
Give Malmo guns a call, they'll know the names of shoots local to you.Tell them what you have in mind,I'd be very surprised if they can't help.
