Mrcbr
Hi just a quick question is it an easy job to change the firing pin myself or do u think its a job best left to a gun smith cheers
Dekers
I have a 391, never replaced the pin but I have stripped it substantially for cleaning. If you are confident enough about seriously cleaning then I suspect you will be able to follow the schematic well enough to replace the pin. Any half decent Gunsmith will probably do it quite quickly/cheaply anyway! ATB!

ciaran
It's easy to strip the gun for cleaning, but I would still leave it to a gunsmith to repolace the firing pins, just to be on the safe side!...
DSPUK
I have a 391 and had a few fail to fire's - I have noticed the firing pin doesn't protrude much and asked a question on another forum how long it should be and mine was same length - Looking further into it I found it was a certain cartridge that seemed to have a batch of low primers although my Winchester never fails with them. Eley Blues by way. Just check what cartridges you are useing when it fails to fire. I have been working on my bolt and trigger and it seemed to be quite an easy job to knock retaining pin out and firing pin should just pull out back of bolt Dave
