Albert 888
My 04 plate freelander was making funny noises at low speeds turning, found the rubber in the bearing mounts on the prop to be at fault. So i bought two new bearings and fit, noise went and after a month the bearings are now making a new noise (running dry) i suspect. I have now removed the prop, is it ok to run my car for a couple of weeks with just front wheel drive until i source new bearings. And what tyre pressue goes in my 17" road tyres, it says 26 psi on the car seems a bit low. Many thanks Albert.
WelshLamb
it'll be alright with just one prop no idea about tyre pressure, but all my cars have always had 30 psi in them !!
Paul223
It'll be fine with no prop seems to be the regular 'fix' to remove them when the viscous joints seize

Removed both halves of the prop, would be good turning it into a rwd as the apprentice said but couldnt work out how to do it. Im used to putting in 30-34 psi in other cars too. Thanks Albert. BRAD1927
make sure you put the relevant blanking plates on http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FREELANDER-IRD-TRANSFER-BLANKING-PLATE-KIT-TRANSFER-BOX-/230640014704?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35b3375570

Propshaft is removed and has been driven home no leaking oil. Forgive me if im being stupid but does it need the blanking plate if so i will make one in the morning. drut
Running without prop is fine(better than killing IRD with knackered viscous coupling),blanking plate is optional.Autodata gives 30psi tyre pressure for 17" wheels.
