poorpeet
Hi, You know on some guns the sides of the action have a decoration of engine turning? Well I assume that you can DIY it if you have a pillar drill but what tool is used and where can you get them?

Coolhead
A fine abrasive disc is used although years ago they got the apprentices to do it with their thumbs and some emery http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf5dqUIT-eo
Salopian
Used to do it with a piece of wooden dowel and valve grinding paste
coyotemaster
I am not sure of the truth in it but I was told the jeweling had a purpose and that was to hold a bit of lubricant on the jeweled area. My 686 has a jeweled area on the bottom of the barrel receiver so I assume it has a purpose.?
