Right guys (or girls) my regular farmer is now drilling some fields and the pigeon are already showing alot of interest, am I right in thinking it's spring barley or could it be something else? He is on holiday for 3 months so I can't contact him to ask, the pigeons just look like they are dropping to the floor to eat mud but like I say there is 5-25 dropping in all the time? Thanks in advance matt!

It want be spring wheat or barley mate as not spring yet. It will be winter drillings. Sounds a bit late though to be doing the drillings with the cold weather expected he could lose the field as it will be to cold for the seed to germanate and could end up rotting. I could be wrong. But to find out what he is growing your best going to the field and just rooting through the soil and find a seed to identify. Hope this helps mate.
