reggiegun
Hi, Ok had my L200 4 life from new, all fully serviced at correct intervals. Then at 98000 miles engine packs in, look in rocker cover box and valve rockers are in bits. Any way recon engine fitted 18 months ago.Anyway I was changing the oil on a routine service and to my horror I saw my water bottle and it was black, rad cap off and that too black with oil. Engine never overheated, no water in oil, just oil in water. Getting head gasket done now. I know a few people with older shape l200 all with engine failure from 02 on. Does anyone know if the new shape is prone to engine problems.

reggiegun
Deffo check oil cooler first alot cheaper than head job. Oil cooler not connected to water system on L200. Head off, pressure tested no faults found, gasket looked good, sleeves looked ok, just hoping there is no cracks in block. He is rebuilding it now.
