sitsinhedges
Anyone else having trouble getting on terms with the flocks of pigeons when roost shooting now? Up until recently they used to drift in on flight lines in small numbers but now they seem to just act like one organism and will clear off en masse at the first shot never to be seen again even though they are still in the same wood. They also seem to come in too high up to shoot at then drop down quickly to their chosen roost. I saw a couple of thousand there yesterday but today when I went with a gun only managed to get one shot and they just stayed out of the way after that. I can't have any more guns in the woods so don't know the answer to this
linny
if you can not have any more guns in the wood with you get some banger ropes cut them down and set them away from you around the wood
Whitebridges
Birds our way seem very skittish, nervous and in big flocks. I've seen this before. The temp has dropped considerably, we were knocking -4 and the chill temp was as cold as it gets. I think sudden drops worries the birds just after it happens, if they have to get used to it they will. They can act really weird when there is large drops in temperature all of a sudden.....just my opinion.
