-Mongrel-
I have a SWB Pajero 2.8 td that manages around 25mpg, it's an auto. A friend has a LWB that he alleges does 30 or so MPG. Anyone else got one of the older 2.8's that can confirm this ...or laugh loudly and tell me it's a load of tosh!!!
WelshLamb
is it worth arguing over? Maybe he drives up less hills, or doesnt drive over 30mph, or services it on time with the stupidly over priced recommended filters, or has bigger tyres, or... or... decoying mad
If you have a 2.8 swb pajero doing 25 to the gallon I will buy it off you now and I'm not joking the best I have ever had is 18 mpg
drut
My 2.8 swb auto used to be lucky to manage 22-23mpg:mixed driving. http://forum.difflock.com/viewtopic.php?t=57314&sid=7a6bbcf3da8e08d3de161385c00f9a64 seems to suggest I was not alone.Lovely/useful motor but **** mpg(at least in auto). billywoodsman
Used my fathers Pajero LWB 2.5 td auto for a couple of weeks and it gave my pocket a real hammering, 20-25 mpg at the best.
-Mongrel-
If you have a 2.8 swb pajero doing 25 to the gallon I will buy it off you now and I'm not joking the best I have ever had is 18 mpg Don't get me wrong, that's driving like a wimp, and I can get it below 18 without too much effort. So, I take it 30mpg is generally accepted as unrealistic? Oh, and Welsh Lamb, I'm not arguing over anything. It's just that if they can do 30+ mpg, then I would reconsider one as I actually really like mine, it's just not big enough. If they can't then I will still sell my SWB and buy a Discovery. Blackbart
I get about 28 out of a 2.5 lwb manual so 30 out of a 2.8 auto seems a tad optomistic
