old rooster
My Springer pup, Jessie, now nearly 5 months old loves to have a swim in the brook when I take her out for a short walk each day. Should I let her swim so regularly or is it bad for the coat or likely to cause other problems ?

As far as i'm concerned, if the brook is clean let her swim, it will only help you out when you want to get her to retreave over water! new to the flock
Swimming everyday should not have any negative implecations for her coat. If you do notice it starting to get dry, just add a fish oil tablet to her food each day. Swimming is a far better exercise than running as it does not pound the joints and causes the heart and lungs to work up to a good rythm. darebear
swimming is one of the best forms of exercise, however all the water will do is make the coat greasier. trust me, with 4 water loving newfoundlands, i know.
