gilo17
Same as above, same level worked for me but then I just did not worry about getting the dummy to hand but making a real fuss of her having it in her mouth and letting her have it a little longer she soon started coming right in with it. That's the one! Have you always been quick to take a retrieve from him? I also taught the 'hold' command when my lab was spitting dummies. Basically offer the dog objects and as he takes them say 'hold'. They eventually get it and you can use this to get the dog to pick the dummy up again if he spits it. Still use this on mine on the rare occasions she spits one out.
kent
There are many ways to cure it yet many reasons why it happens. Firstly dont pick them up off the ground. At 13mnths she will be walking to heel without a slip well yes? Then heel her with dummy in mouth taking it as she walks with you perhaps? otherwise introduce the "hold" command perhaps. More simply just kick it were it landed and repeate you fetch command taking a few mini yet ultra quick steps backwards. Only reward correct delivery, all the mad frizbee dogs in the park do this trick- next move from the dog might be backing off barking in exitement for another chuck. I might wadger you have been picking them up and throwing another one for it just like the frizbee crowd- Dont dog delievers on game ends leaving dummy were it fell, dog will soon learn to pick em up
