Go onto the firearms website of your police force and download/print off the application for a shotgun certificate. Fill it out, it's fairly straightforward.

Your age won't be a problem, but you do need to find someone to countersign your application, this person cannot be a family member and must have known you for at least 2 years. They should be someone like a doctor, teacher, mp etc.

Send off the form and a cheque for £50 and the firearms department will get in touch and interview you and should then grant you a certificate. You also need to install a cabinet.

The length of time for applications varies depending on which force you are with.
