Thunderbird
Many people would say a gun shop is the last place you should go as a novice shooter, unless it comes well recommended. They can be odd places.
Shropshire_Lad
Hi again, I was not meaning you were chauvinistic either, just don't forget your girl will give you years of fun too! As far as trying a gun or two goes what guns have you in mind? A few of us here in Shropshire have a few different ones you could have a twirl with I'm sure. atvb Paul. PigeonEater
Don't - Reed other postings on site - If you must go and see Branthwaites in Cheadle Hulme. I think if you read through the postings relating to CGR on here the genunine complaints were actually resolved, more than likely because of this forum. There is a group of 3 or 4 people on here that say the same thing over and over including this guy, BK and some others. Its get boring. I personally use CGR for everything and there great. As a new shooter with no experience and no one to actually shoot with i relied on them a lot at the start and they have never let me down. Started with a shotgun, then got my FAC and John helped me all the way. Personally i find Arthurs a bit forgettable. Lack luster selection, poky shop, annoying polish bloke yadda yadda. But yano, each to their own. Welcome anyhoo!

Singlemalt
Welcome aboard.....I am new to Pigeon Watch but have been shooting a good few years and it is a good idea to try different guns if possible before you buy. I wouldn't rush into buying...practice and enjoy for a while... P.S. Congrats on your new born.
