Questions about Pro Decoys

Has anybody had some of those Pro decoys for a long time ?

I was wondering how they stood up to the test of time. :hmm:

Do they fade ?

Does the print come off ?

Do they perish ?

I'm not even sure how long they've been out for, so maybe these questions can't be answered yet.

Cheers,

Steve

Steve,

Was out on Fri, only put 5 Pro Decoys out and saw a big flock in the distance on the flight line, nipped in me hide and they flocked in!! landing among them. Admittedly i've only had mine since Dec' and at nearly £30 for 5, i wont be getting many more for a while, until i get a full year out of them, and answered the same questions as you have.

Cheers for the reply. :good:

I think I'll just take a chance and get a few. Then maybe in 12 months I can write a report on them.

Good luck mate, the only thing i forgot to mention is the connector for a peg, its a piece of piping on a a bent bit of metal, i wrapped some wire round a similar piece (a little wider)which the 'pipe'sits in and bent the wire along the body to the back end enough to give a bit of 'bounce' and use the down bit as a ground spike.

Hope this helps

Hi,

I bought 20 about 3 months ago and they are not showing any sign's of damage as yet,

I must say they are the best decoy's I have ever used,I won't be going back to shells any time soon.

I am finding that once the pigeons have seen them they are landing in the pattern, and I am having some good results,

Hope this helps

Mark

I've had mine for over a year. I have 10 and i think they are a good solid decoy. I have shot some big bags whilst using them. They have faded a bit in the sun, though. They look a bit more purple than when they were new.

Well I've bought 15 now. So , time will tell.

Thanks for the replies chaps. You convinced me that I should buy some.

I have had most types of decoys that have been on the market, and to be honest, most deteriorate over time in some way or another.

I bought a load of sportplast easyfold decoys

a few years ago, and they perished away quite badly. Flocked shells that I've got have faded to a light grey. Full bodied ones that I've got have lost original colouring. So it was time for some replacements.

The longest lasting ones that I've had, are the normal shells. I've got about 15 or so that still look the same as when I bought them, about 15 years ago.
