mrjangles
I went out on my mountain bike today absolutely gorgeous weather. As usual like most of us on country roads going into ditches and alike looking at the sky for Pigeon activity. Came across this area, everything just right! not to near the road! Pigeons streaming in! Right Where’s the farmer? Rides up the road, bloke arsing about with tractor Turns out the land was keeperd and part of a big estate And the only way to get a chance of shooting was if my mother was her majesty the queen. Luckily she is my mother! but the man didn’t seem to believe me. Never mind “right sod when that happens though†
Cranfield
Having had a few "knock backs" myself, it never ceases to amaze me that "the Farmer" can watch a load of pigeons hitting a crop and still refuse you permission. Its my belief, that often we are not talking to the right person.

bertie
It seems some farmers just dont want rid of them! Wonder how much it costs them in lost crops in a year?
pin
Its my belief, that often we are not talking to the right person. I agree. A person not authorised to give shooting permission can pretend to be the head honcho, but can only do this successfully if he says no
il cacciatore
I know the feeling. Up here there are loads of estates and farms on those estates wont give out shooting permission because they dont own the shooting permission. Not worth the consequences to them. The keeper controls the pests. I know they usually dont because they physically cant but most estates are strict in that way.
