rwade545
Hi, looking for some advice/personal experiences. Cousin in Kenya is exporting a few guns for his and his wides use. He is getting a perennia 3 and was lookingvto get her an ultralight. Question is what is thecrecoil like? Will be used for duck and guinea fowl ( tough *******) so usual use 34/36 grams or number 4. Will the recoil be severe on an ultralight? Any one with experience with the same? Thanks once again!

I had a ultralight and you will be in for a painful experience if shooting those types of loads , the gun was best suited to 28 grams. I have a ultralight and use 28g, i have put 32g through it (OUCH), and once 36g(BIG Mistake). They will knock you around bearing in mind they weigh 5lb 10oz I will not use more than 30g through mine now, and mostly use 28's. If you use too heavier a cartridge for too long a time it can damage the aluminum action. They are a lightweight game gun, also not meant for clays(Ask Fenboy) as with repeated use you can feel it. With the loading you describe why not get a Beretta A400 Explorer Light, a lightweight semi auto, and because its a semi, the recoil will be minimal. apache
I never noticed the recoil with 34g in my Perennia but 40g hurts! With the ultralight it will be murder! My wife has one but it's light loads only!
