Whatever works for you mate, you had a problem and solved it - nobody is going to laugh at you for that!

P.S lancs lad ill shake my Tic Tacs at who i want! ???:)

 

 

Try using a bit of grey pipe insulating foam, put it round an empty bit of your scope tube.

Snip slits into it, put pellets into the slits...

 

You can get about 20 pellets into a one inch piece of isulation.

 

Secure with some tape....rotate round the scope when necessary.

 

Depending on the internal diameter of the insulation, you may need to cut another wedge to make up the full circle...
