SPEEDY
I am currently looking for a replacement shotgun. I was originally going to turn my Rottweil model 90E into a slug and ball gun by cutting the barrels down to 24â€, fitting rifle sights and having the stock modified to suite me better. But after lending it to a friend he has made me a very reasonable offer for it. So now I am looking to upgrade to a better gun I was considering a Drilling just to be different, but alas it is not really a very feasible option for my needs. I have turned my attention to either a Beretta silver pigeon slug gun or a Sabatti SABA slug gun. I am leaning more towards the Sabatti at the moment as it is designated as a “Ball shot†gun for hunting “Hoofed†animals, exactly what I am looking for. I wish to use .690-.715 cal round ball loads and Buckshot for hunting Pigs for the most part but I plan on having a crack at buffalo. (with proper backup of course) Any opinions? Baldrick
http://www.sabatti.it/eng/framesetgiustapposti.htm I would take the Sabatti. It's double trigger. You can easily switch between a slug in one barrel and buckshot in tthe other, without the hassle of a selective trigger. http://www.beretta.com/index.aspx?m=74&idc=1&ids=40 The Beretta looks OK though. Graham M
Buffalo are bloody dangerous and I think it would be a very brave man who would want to use ball against them. Yes I know that a lot of Elephants were shot with them but.......... I have never had the privilege to hunt Buffalo, but if I did it would have to be a double rifle in .375/.416 and even then it would have to have double triggers. G.M. Baldrick
Whilst I have not yet shot either, could one assume that Asiatic Buffalo are smaller and less hostile than Cape Buffalo?
SPEEDY
No more brave then the guy’s doing it with a bolt-action 308win, you just use the right rounds. I would use Brenneke black magic DG slugs Buff, as that’s the kind of game that they were designed for. Plenty of Buff have been dropped with 1 O/Z Brenneke slugs down here. Graham M
Well you know more about it than me Speedy. You'll have to send some pictures of the results G.M.
SPEEDY
Well you know more about it than me Speedy. Not really as I only second hand knowledge so far unfortunately. I have however shot plenty of scrub bulls, which in my humble opinion are every bit as dangerous as buff and twice as likely to charge (very exciting stuff)

Baldrick
The shark and the surfer photo I have seen. The Pamplona bull photo is much better though....
