Catweazle
It's madness, our roads will end up owned by the Chinese or by companies set up specifically to take as much money as possible before collapsing just as the road network becomes unserviceable and leaving the taxpayer to pick up the bill. Read between the lines: 100 year bonds, selling the roads, borrowing still increasing, talks about releasing the strategic oil reserve, Royal Mail pension fund raided...... It's all desperate fire-fighting, with no regard to future implications. I can only assume that Government have finally worked out that if they can't stop the coming crash there will be no future to worry about, so they're throwing everything they've got at the problem. Will it be enough ? I don't think so. Edited March 20, 2012 by Catweazle
