Big_Paulie
Hey Guys, Bit of a question for the North Herts Guys. Do any of you have any experience of the gun shop in Letchworth called "A Different Calibre"? I'd be interested to hear any views or experiences. Many thanks Paul
huffhuff
Bought an air rifle there. It broke. It took forever to get back. Not much stock. Didn't particularly get on with guy in there. Bit cocky. It's quite expensive too. Just my experience.
Gnome of the Woods
****, just my experience! Although it has been several years since I was last ignored in there!
Big_Paulie
Balls, that is what I feared! I bought a knife in there today and have since found it for much less online, so you are right about the prices. That'll teach me for not doing my research beforehand. Ah well, shame as I've moved to Letchworth now from Hatfield thought it was going to be handy to have a local gun shop instead of having to trek down to Park Street. Where do you guys normally go anyway? P
Gnome of the Woods
Park St or Stutley Bros up the A1. Your just about slap bang between the two. There's John Eastaff at Sandy as well. Do a search for Stutley on here
al4x
Basically Herts has no decent gun shops, Letchworth has always been a joke and really I've no idea why it still exists. Park Street seem better than they used to be probably a sign of differing economic times and well Stutleys it seems better than it used to be but not cheap and you can be ignored in there whoever you are. cooter
I dealt with Mr McDonald a few times and on every occasion he proved to be an absolute k.***. There are some very funny stories about the b####cks he spouts, and his numerate faux pau. It is a great shame as I always found his part time assistant to be a really good bloke. bakerboy
I call the owner "Daniel Doom" Do not go in, if you feel a bit low, or if your best before date is coming up.
Big_Paulie
Thanks for the responses guys. Lesson learn't, just gutted it was the hard way. Incidentally Cooter, you're spot on, the assistant is a lovely fella.
