ScottCromwell2
Hello, I have been recommended to use 20grain bullets for foxes from my .17HMR, the reason the person gave me was that the 17grain transferred its energy too quick on something like a fox? What do you's think?
Beretta28g
Bull Feaces. Use .17 V Max if you are allowed .17 for fox. 20g dont expand enough to be humane execpt on head shots.
Beardo
Headshots are the best bet with .17hmr and foxes, either type will do the biz in that instance, but if you must boiler room shoot a fox with a .17hmr then the vmax are much better, as said the hps just zip through unless they hit bone
cooter
I read some time ago (Chuckhawks site IIRC) that the 20grn were developed to get more penetration on larger animals like coyotes. They may drill through a fox. From personal experience the 17grn are more than capable of dropping a fox.
