Nickt
I have cured some rabbit pelts and have tried to soften them up using hand cream, and also rub them in with a stone with no success. Anyone knows a way? Many thanks

steve_b_wales
I have found that when I have tanned some rabbit pelts, unless I get all of the fat etc off before submerging it in the solution, the pelt is hard. You need to get every bit of fat and membrane off as much as possible. I bought my tanning kit from Snowdonia Taxidermy Supplies.

Thedeerman
A tumbler will gt them soft, you have to break down the fibres in the pelt. You can also chew them like inuit women do .

Deano 1
You have to stretch them before they are fully dry after you have tanned them, you can see the skin turn white as the fibres break down, do a bit at a time, it's not a two minute job and if you've got a dozen skins to do, you'll feel like you've been to the gym.
