cooter
MTC do the optisan strike for about the same money, and only ever heard good things about the ones from JSR. Only thing I would suggest is you get one with a red LED display so that you can read them at first and last light.
darryl.h
I have the Hawke Compact LRF 400 Rangefinder i find it a great piece of kit to walk arround a new permission to get distances. and its small enough to fit in shirt pocket and use on a whim when im quite not sure on range. but the only downside if shooting just before sunrise or after sunset the lcd display can be hard to read. great upto 200yds but beyond that smmall game rabbits or fence posts it struggles to pick up quickly (not that i shoot at them at that range just saying what i have found with mine). for the max 400 yards it needs a good size object deer size side on to get a reading from it. battery life mine is still going strong 18 months down the line. best £100 spent.
