PotHunter96
hey all just a few questions regarding calling carrions as i was going to try and all a few in up at the farm, ok: 1. is it illegal to use a dead lamb as bait for them as long as its disposed of afterwards and if yes then is bread a good bait. 2.should i set up a decoy pattern or could i just walk around the farm and hide in different locations calling 3.does a rabbit in distress call work for carrion crows?? thank you

hedd-wyn
Luckily dead lambs aren't abundant on my permission, so I imitated one by using a clump of wool and some pigs liver from Morrisons and it worked a treat Just a few decoys four or five the most personally I don't stick to a certain pattern, just need a good eye and make it look as 'natural' as possible. You won't see them in the double figures this time of year on my permission usually in pairs and very territorial. Try and set the decoys as close to where the farmer feeds the livestock if possible the decoys usually lures them in. Give it a go, youl be surprised
fox hunter
Hi matey I was once told by a keeper to get a dead fox put him in the sitting position and the crows should attack it dont know if it works or not?
Browning GTS
With crows things don't seem to work twice. i have been out with 10-12 decoys and shot 40, yet another time it has not worked. Also been out near a barn with only a gun and had 10 or so.
