Well now, any NppC members looking for some good shutin, I suggest you try the Malton, N.Yorkshire area during next week?

There are lots of options around there, I watched some sweathed rape fields on three evenings this week, made my move early yesterday, though soon realised I was in the wrong place and I shifted fields just as it was begining to rain but I stuck it out (always have fishing brolly in hide pole sack thank goodness) and by 7.30ish I had fired 215 cartridges and knocked down 119 stoggies, unbelievable, and my dog was christmascrackered she stayed in the river Rye for a good ten minutes at the end!!!

It was another red letter day for me.

Cheers, CB :~)

This is what I used:

Semi-auto 12g/ 28gr trap cartridges 6 shot/ yellow Labrador.

Six hide poles, retrostealth netting, two bumsticks and 30-odd floked shells(great in the rain they just go darker)

Thank you.

CB bet you made yourself welcome with the neighbours at that time in the morn :good: If that was 0730 and not 1930 what time did you stay out to and were the birds still coming later in the day? What was the weather like apart from rain, was it heavy low pressure or what? I'm working on some observations and any info would be useful. Thanks.

Highlander,

Sorry guys, it was 1930hrs. (there are'nt any neighbours though)

I did'nt get going until early afternoon it was v.hot and muggy some wind n/westerly with thunderstorm brewing, rained on/off for a couple of hours from about 1700hrs, the rain did not affect the birds at all.

Cheers, CB:~)
