UKPoacher
I spotted this little fellah yesterday while out fishing. I think it is some sort of warbler or flycatcher, but I can't seem to be able to ID it from my books. Nesting Bird

UKPoacher
Thanks. I originally thought it was a finch owing to the heavy beak, but I've not seen a chaffinch with such defined markings. And it seems preoccupied with flies both on and off the nest. To be honest, whilst I'm a keen birdwatcher, I'm not very good at identifying a lot of the species. Today I saw a huge raptor that was very light underneath and had a white tail. Looking through the books it could have been a booted eagle. The other week there was a black kite dive bombing some sheep. I wish I'd had the camera that day! The camera is an old JVC HDD. I have been a keen stills photographer for over thirty years, but never bothered with video. When I retired and was planning to come over to France I got a cheap video camera off eBay specifically for nature shots. I've just got back from the farm pond where I've been filming carp mooching around in the shallows. I will go back tomorrow evening and dunk a waterproof ATC camera in there and see what turns up. Thanks again.
