Donnie
Evening all, my dog is in for castration tomorrow due to a retained testicle. In the mear future I would like a springer and would ideally like s bitch from a pup. My question is when the pup is physically big enough can i kennel them together? I would hope not to have the bitch spayed either. Thanks for any help
Actionpigeons
I keep five dogs together in one large kennel, two labs, one cocker, one Springer, and an old whippet. In the winter they are warm as toast all living together. So Im sure you would be fine with two in one kennel. ferguson_tom
I have a castrated 18 month old collie dog and a 6 month old springer bitch, they live together well with no problems. They are not kenneled but in our house but left in the kitchen together during the day.

vixen.
I kennel dogs and bitches together with no problems, all entire as well. As long as the dogs know who's in charge I can't see there being a problem. Bit different for the terrorists though I'll admit

As said, dogs and bitches can be easier kennel mates than dogs of the same sex. If your dog is castrated he will not be able to do the deed when your bitch is in season but that will not necessarily stop him wanting to so you should have a contingency plan to separate them whilst she is in season if required. Some castrated dogs don't bat an eyelid, others think they are Hugh Hefner and don't realise they've been snipped.
