ernyha
Steve, some years ago i had a couple of fabulous days on maize stubble. If there are no more attractive feeding grounds for them in the area at the time, then you should do well on it. When i shot over it, the other stubbles had been ploughed in but not re-sown with winter crops and the ears of maize were pulling the birds in lovely. Catamong
Steve, Maize stubble can be a very good draw, particularly if the farmer leaves it to over-winter, as they should pile in during November / December, and they usually decoy well, especially if the dead birds are up on cradles. Nowadays, however, the plough follows the combine, (in our area), and stubbles left to over-winter are becoming increasingly rare.
