RC40s

Been given a couple of boxes of rc40s 40g no3 , i was hoping to use them in a winchestor 101 xtr pigeon O/u the chap that give them to me said they be fine but another friend said that they shouldnt be used in the above gun it also has full an 3/4 chokes , will it be ok or should i steer clear should also mention the carts are 70mm my gun is chambered 70mm any thoughts ??

my firend with i=his baikal o/u full choke has fired 70mm semi magnums 42g loads in size 0 and there fine in the gun and hits ver hard i see him shot 20 of them in one hour so you should be ok his gun is 70mm chambered and 3.25 tons pers squre inch as long as the shot is not steel go for it

would it say on the box if they were steel shot rather than lead ?

yes most steel says steel on the box eley steel say it on the box so do remington say steel gamebore say steel hull say steel just to make sure have a look on the cartidge to or a quick google to double check like i said if there not steel you be fine

They will be lead, as far as I'm aware RC do not do steel loads.

As for shooting RC40's through your gun I use them through all my guns and I mostly shoot x-full with no problems, and as soon as I pick up my HPX they'll be getting chucked through that also, if it's proofed it's good.
