Donnie Posted June 8, 2012 Report Share Posted June 8, 2012 Hi all on my first permission told the farmer is growning a barley and pea mix.for cattle. I have seen alk the barley fields now about 1ft tall and this crop but told by another farm hand it is maize. Can any one tell me what crop this is when to shoot it? smig4373 Posted June 8, 2012 Report Share Posted June 8, 2012 (edited) 100% maize... :good: Farmers will sow peas in with barley and a clover ley mix too...When they get the forager on it,they'll scalp it to the floor,no stubble left at all...You need to be shooting that just after its sown... Shooting Tom Posted June 9, 2012 Report Share Posted June 9, 2012 its maize as for shooting you might get some when the barley goes milky in the next few weeks and again when it is cut just hope they dont plow it in after a few days like most places do.
