Livefast123
I'll be putting my first variation in at the end of the month and am trying to decide which calibres to ask for as I have to balance my target shooting needs / vermin control needs and budget. I have come up with the following and would welcome feedback and advice on the calibres and ammunition allowances to ask for. 1. 22LR semi for vermin and target work (already own) 2. 223 for fox, vermin and mid/long distance target work 3. 44 Magnum underlever for target work 4. 44 Black powder revolver for target work Possibly .50 black powder rifle for target work I'm planning to start reloading the .44 and maybe the 223 if the rifle doesn't like PPU! Looks good, you may want to add fox to the .44mag in addition to target. Reasonable, affordable ammo amounts would be say 1000/1200 .22fr and 250/300 for the 223 & 44mag. Livefast123
Thanks, I had thought of doing that but didn't know how receptive the FEO would be to it as it's a pistol calibre although energy levels are more than suitable.

Livefast123
I've currently got .22LR (500/600) and .17HMR (200/400) for vermin control and target shooting but I need to move to a fox calibre as my farmer has had charlie hanging round his puppy breeding sheds and I need to shoot a better variety of competitions at the club. You wouldn't catch me shooting near young pups. 223 is the std fox and up to 300yds target choice and still allowable in FTR
Livefast123
I wouldn't either hence wanting a decent range foxing calibre although if I can get the .44 conditioned for fox there is always the possibility of short range subsonic and moderated rounds if I get a Ruger 77/44 instead of an underlever. I dont see any personal reason i could ever wish to obtain a heavy calibre subsonic foxing round. At least a John wayne gun might be fun on the range a Ruger 77 on the other hand sounds a truely awfull gun
