4 places left - small scale driven day, Sat 17th Nov

Recommended Posts

Me and a few friends who shoot clays together have booked a very small scale driven day in Cumbria on Saturday 17th November. We have a 40 bird day booked for a team of 8 (strict 5 birds each). As we all hail from Lancashire we are looking for 4 other North West based guns to fill out our day. We intend to car share to keep costs to a minimum and if we are successful with this we should cap the cost for the day to £170 per gun including 5 birds, fuel, Full English breakfast at the start of the day and keepers tip at the end of the day.

Please PM for more details.

thanks :good:

£34 pound a bird is steep even with the full English

Wow, thats a bloody expensive breakfast!

There's a shoot close to me bordering a large estate with one place left, half gun on a 10 day driven shoot £200 (5 days shooting and 5 days beating).

But that sounds too cheap on the other foot imho

You pay your money and takes your choice

We are paying 28 pound a bird on a commercial shoot. 5 birds is 140 pounds. Other 30 quid is breakfast, fuel and tip.

To be fair £28 a bird on a boundary day is a bit steep IMHO

A 40 bird day you won't be doing the normal drives with good high birds ;)

If it is a commercial shoot ?

I would agree that £28 a bird ain't cheap but we aren't all lucky enough to have a space on a diy shoot. Also because of work and or family commitments some of us couldn't spare 8 or 10 days a season to shoot. The 4 guns so far are all fairly new to shooting and have booked this day so we can enjoy the experience of shooting a few driven birds without breaking the bank.

I am told there will be 6 guns stood and 2 walking each drive. There will also be ducks flushed off the river at the end of the day to bring us up to our 40 birds.

They have a website and someone may be able to give us some feedback on the shoot?

If anyone round this way cant find any other shooting and would like to join us then fair enough. If not we can ring the shoot organizer and ask him to sell the 4 places to another group. :good:
