Blunderbuss
Excuse the quality, most of these were taken on the phone: 25m range, rapid fire pistol - practice Three positional practice on 50m range Random picture of some Olympic decorated scaffolding (Back of the shotgun range spectators stands) 50m free pistol practice Some halfwit pratting about with the Olympic fag lighter View of shotgun range B where the double trap final was shot, the centre of three combined trap/skeet layouts The three double trap medalists A sight to gladden the the heart

Blunderbuss
Nice pics Dave, good thing you didn't get any trouble off the poofter with the gold stick. Glad he left me alone, he was nails that bloke, handsome, witty and charming. He'd have out shot Pete Wilson and out run Bolt probably. Blunderbuss
Great pics Dave, I could hear it all going off from my site next to the ferry. Who did you mung the torch off? Is it going to be lighting the camp fire at the next Cotswolds??? They just had one there for you to have a pic with. I thought about borrowing it long term but there were a lot of coppers with MP5s about! The Mrs found an Olympic exhibition in central London the day before where they had another one, so she's got pics of herself with two Olympic torches. They're ten a penny! hendersons
Nice pics Dave. Was it a good day or was it a bit slow? Did the mrs enjoy it too? Only ask because I'm debating whether or not to take Monika to the Paralympics with me or leave her at home.
Blunderbuss
Nice pics Dave. Was it a good day or was it a bit slow? Did the mrs enjoy it too? Only ask because I'm debating whether or not to take Monika to the Paralympics with me or leave her at home. Nick it was a bit slow between the morning qualifiers and the the afternoon finals, but we were quite happy just mooching around, the atmosphere is really good and the time went really quickly. I enjoyed mooching around all the other ranges to see them practice. I thought Sue would get bored but she didn't, the finals were absolutely gripping whether you were into shooting or not, real heart stopping stuff. I don't think she would have enjoyed it quite so much TBH if there hadn't been a British interest, but she loved it and had a great day. The seating is a free for all and we had some very good ones in the double trap qualifiers, so from the end of the qualifiers to the finals (a couple of hours) we guarded them in shifts. We made a day of it catching a boat from the London eye to Woolwich Arsenal pier which took nearly and hour and was deserted. A semi private Thames cruise for £4 (with a third discount for our Olympic travel card). After the shooting was finished we made our way to Greenwich and had a mini pub crawl and some scoff. The pubs were packed with Equestrian event spectators, competitors and officials from all over the world the place was buzzing. Some nice looking south American lasses in jodhpurs were particularly distracting . A really, really great day. The only bad part about it was the catering in the venue. The food in there is eye wateringly expensive and looked rubbish. £6.50 for a scabby looking bacon roll, £8.50 for a sad looking portion of fish and chips, £4.50 for a small plastic bottle of lager :o . Shocking profiteering of the most blatant and cynical type . We were warned off about this so took sarnies. You can take an empty water bottle and fill it for free. Against my better judgement I did buy a beer and some teas/coffees but it was proper highway robbery. To top it off a tea Sue had was cold, made with greasy water and she declared it the worst she'd ever had. I can't remember how much it was but the best part of three quid I think. Anyhow, that aside it was a thoroughly enjoyable day and I'm glad I went. I've got Paralympic athletics tickets too, including the 200 & 100m finals, can't wait! hendersons
I'm glad you both enjoyed it. Seems like good fun. I think I'll try and talk Monika into it. I should imagine your last post will help me persuade her. The prices for the food sound a bit of a joke but I expect it's a bit like with the cla where they get charged so much for the pitch they have to charge an extirtionate amount to try and make a profit. I would also take Monika to see some of the sights as I don't think she has done that in London before.
