ollie
Had my first outing of the summer at the Pigeons on Saturday. Wasn't holding out much hope of a good bag as I didn't think the Barley would be ripe enough yet. Anyway got permission to a field that I saw a few pigeons in, set up the decoys and 4 hours later I had a bag of 19 Woodies, 3 Ferals, 1 Magpie & 2 Rooks. I shot very well and only missed 1 pigeon all day. Also I managed to shoot 2 pigeons in flight with 1 shot; 5 pigeons were coming into the pattern and the first one landed, so I let it land to see if I could get a left & right when the other came in. Just as the first bird rise from the pattern the 2nd was coming in and they must have crossed paths. I have shot 2 grey crows in flight with one shot before, but this is the first time I have shot 2 pigeons in flight with one shot. Edit: to say there was 2 birds lost in the crop and obviously I didn't take the magpies, rooks & ferals home Edited August 6, 2012 by ollie
