Wildfowler325
Does any one know the thread size of the Browning Maxus front sight? I'v read that most Brownings are 3mm. Im changing the HIVIZ sight that came with the gun for a simple steel bead as i hate HIVIZ front sights. Many thanks

flyshooter
Hi W/F, look about 14 threads down from yours, in guns and equipment, in post 4, the guy there says the size of the bead is, M3X0.5 for a Maxus front sight. The thread is titled; "Maxus just a quick gripe", hope this helps, Fly. Edited August 10, 2012 by flyshooter
clayman
Beads come in three basic thread sizes. 2.6mm is the most common, but some manufacturers use 3mm or 3.2mm As its easy to buy from the Italian selection of 24 bead types you can find on-line and in many gun shops, but these are 2.6mm, the solution if you have a rib with a larger bead hole is to gap fill the 2.6mm threaded bead of choice into it. This can be done by using thread-lock or even just a gap filling epoxy like araldite. Another way is to slide a short length of insulation off a piece of electrical cable, and use it as a thread shim - screw the bead into the hole left when the copper wire is extracted, snip it off to the thread length, and the screw the bead and plastic into the oversize hole - job done.
