load leaves a dirty barrel.

Comparison between the two.

I think a 2mm extension built onto the lee crimp would improve the overall pressure and the asthetic side would benefit too. :hmm:

I think there is a marked improvement between the two as it is :good:

or would it be possible to amend the base to raise the cart the desired height? :hmm: the cart retainer is screwed into place so surely I might be able to have a 2mm seat machined and fit between the retainer and base???

crimps should be 0.055" or there abouts, the mec puts a very nice crimp on brand new hulls.

my pre-crimp settings were a tad heavy, so i lighened them up. now it crimps just like factory, when before i needed to round off the crimp.

i`ve heard if you have 0.080" crimp depth it can help an anaemic cartridge, or make a near maximum pressure load go over pressure. but this was data from the states.

Wax the top of a loaded cartridge and place a coin or washer of the size needed on top with a dab of Araldite rapid on it and lower the ram and secure with a rubber bungee for an hour.

Thats a cheap option :P

I am thinking perhaps a set of bushes for the base in different heights and THIS way you COULD get a LEE load all to do 67.5mm and even 65mm carts :D

I just need to see if I can get someone to help out in the machining world as this will require a milling machine and some light alloy to make the prototypes.
