Salop Matt
Folks, Am looking into adding some spot lights to our Jimny as we regularly drive roads with no lighting and it would nice to have for shooting aswell and asthetics / gadget fix ! So what have you got,how did you mount them and how did you wire them ? ATB Matt
al4x
we just use side lights if you have to or simply the lamp if not, additional red ones etc just give you something else to turn off if you see foxy and really are naff all use to spot rabbits in. So possibly do them for aesthetic reasons but lamping wise they don't help at all
Salop Matt
Am on about a pair of spot lights like alot of 4x4`s have such as Hella - These are white lights for lighting up everything ahead ! (I wasnt thinking of red lights ! ) Although rear white (work) lights I would be interested to hear about !
al4x
more for looks rather than beneficial for any shooting purpose
Salop Matt
Its cosmetics and Practical so that they come on with main beam when I put main beam on driving home on country roads !
pboro shot
couple of front spots wired to a relay on your highbeam or on a seperate switch very simple dont wire them straight in for the sake of a few £ for a relay, full wiring kits are also available if your not into wiring but expensive for wot you get i dont bother with front spots as very rearly need main beam, but find the work lamps on the back of the truck very usefull i have a seperate switch in the boot area with 2 work lights ideal for sorting kit or gralloching etc the only other lamp is just a hand held some people with 4x4 get a bit carried away with lighting really is no more then asthetics
ajm1979
My fourtrak came with two hella spot lamps on the front, they didnt work when i first got it and the headlights are worse than two candles, got them sorted and what a difference however not so keen on the wiring set up as even on sidelights they come on as they have high and low power, they do make a huge difference when driving on the road and usefull at times off road
