ack-ack
Not really a sporting picture series but thought I'd post it to hopefully prompt others to show off their cider kit. At the risk of sounding like a *** this press was made from drift wood. I'm too tight to buy pukka timber. The pressing pan and pressure plate are kitchen work top off cuts. Couldn't blag any hardwood for the upstands but the pine hasn't affected the taste of the end result. Got four gallon off in 3 hrs so its not the quickest operation by any means but I enjoy it so time is irrelevant, however, the neighbours trees have yet to drop and half of mine also so this calm is soon to go out the window. Thats when Mr Chipper gets brought in. The gear we did this time last year we cained over Xmas and it was sublime. Not just saying that either. The stuff we pressed at Xmas wasn't as good but just about drinkable. Bottled up the last of the demi's Monday and a gallon of beetroot wine. ack-ack
You're my best mate, hic Will there be any left for next year's 'do' mate, that's the question? There should be easy. Thaat stuff wasn't much cop as it was just about ready to bottle and I re-racked it to improve the clarity. In my infinite wisdom I topped up with frozen apple juice left over from the last pressing at Crimbo and it started fermenting again. Hence the plastic bottles used to transport that gave it the look of chateau lay-by . Hey Rob......looking good, save me a drop TEH Will do good buddy
