HAMMY
I'm looking to buy a 22-250, and went in to have a look today, the guy had a Tikka T3 Lite, with a S & B 8 x 56 "klassic" Scope and a wildcat Moderator sitting all new and reproofed 1450 Quid, is he about right for price? And what are the opinions on this set up?? It concerned me a little that he made no effort to sell me anything else. Thx Hammy
Dunkield
Get yourself a copy of Gunmart to check the price out, it sounds a lot, but all those bits soon add up so you may find it isn't a bad price. Is the gun brand new? 22-250 is a quick old round so if it isn't new I would walk away from it, but others may disagree.

Dunkield
Sounds as if it may be a cancelled order, unless they regularly put combinations together. You need to see a York Guns or Sportsman advert to get the lowest component prices, and add in the cost of threading and proofing etc. I should add by replying to your questions doesn't mean I think I am an expert, far from it
deadeye ive
Hammy If this is any help The scope is around £380(Hungarian )£550 (German) The wildcat mod is around £250 If it optilock mounts then they are £85 Threading £50 Reproofing 25-£50 That leaves around £660 for the rifle depending on where the scope was made .This rifle normally retails around the £500-550 mark . What I can tell you though is that it's a first class set up for Fox Control

If its a German scope I still think the price is a little bit strong. Go and have a haggle. As Ive has said already, it is a good package. Browning
Hammy, I can't offer advice on the cost etc, but if you do decide to go with the .22-250 and you want to re-load your own ammo, I have a set of RCBS dies and a load of once fired brass you can have for the price of postage. hill billy
as hammy said the rifle should be from 500 to 600 quid depending were you are the scope is probably about the 350 400 mark and mod i don't no but it sounds pretty good but its a lot of money but your gettin the right caliber just remember your looking at at least £15 for 20 bullets

Big Dog
Make sure when pricing option you clarify between T3 lite and Stainless T3 lite (£100 difference) I would be weary of the combo offered. I have never seen a combo in centre fire made up as everyone has their own slant on what is best. There has to be a reason why he got the rifle screwed Why that mod and scope As someone else said, it may be a cancelled order and he just wants his investment back but why didn't he say that Just be careful ask all the right question. T3 will be a good choice. Next year I will go for a 6.5x55 and I will go for T3 as I won't screw it. Cost about £180 over here to send it to UK, proofed and stuff. Good hunting for the gun B)
