rabbitstopper
I'm just woundering what other people use in their guns: In my Semi for Pigeon shooting i use Express 32gram 6's with a 1/4 choke and sometimes 1/2 for longer ranges, for Rabbits i use 40gram 1's with 1/2 or 3/4 chokes and for Rooks and Crows i use 40-53gram 1's 1/2 - Full chokes What do you use?? tim
no 1's for rabbits - not much left for the pot ?? bit too much overkill for crows as well
Cranfield
rabbitstopper, WOW, you are a trifle over-the-top with No1s for almost anything, except geese or foxes. No.6 shot will stop pigeons, crows and rabbits very effectively. As will No.5 and No.7. 1/4 Choke and 1/2 Choke are good all-rounders as well. 3/4 is necessary for the really long shots. You will get more discussion on shot sizes and chokes, than any other subject. Everyone has their own personal prefferences. As I have said before, its all about confidence. If you,re happy and hitting the target.....fine.
rabbitstopper
The 6's dont seem to be taking the crows out, and at present only using the 1's as thats what came with my gun, though will be using 32gram 4's in future as the i's as you say seemed abit overkill but do the job
