Big Mat
I went out this morning for a flight at sheps. ayano3 off here arranged for his friend Phil to take me out because he couldnt make it. We had a wander out and got sat up, could hear a few mallard other side of the sea wall moving about. We moved over slightly to make use of some taller grass for cover. Sat there for a while having a chat, Phil was on a bit of higher land so he could see the duck coming and warn me to get my head down. Saw some mallard flitting along the drain, a couple popped there heads over but didnt head out. Then about 100 came straight over the top of us, i had my eye on three that where abit lower and coming straight over, but i hesitated thinking are they low enough, which one to take and by the time i had the gun up and swinging they were over me. Phil took a cracking one from the other side of the bunch. Another bunch came towards and looked as thought they were going to pass beside me at a nice shootable height but they gently curved off before hand and ended up too far away. Some greylag came about and Phil called them but they didnt pass close enough. Overall a good morning out, and the duck will still be there for another day when i don't hesitate! Big Mat
Phil gave me the mallard he shot so i've still got duck to eat! Completely my fault for hesitating, but i'm new to wildfowling and the duck will still be there another day!
