The sad thing about this is that whatever sentence imposed if any will be pretty worthless. I don't believe in that. Unlike the criminals responsible, we would not be torturing the innocent - only the guilty. Which of these is worse - the "an eye for an eye" method of punishment, or torturing an innocent animal for absolutely no reason? I didn't know about this till right now. Made me well up.
