zab10
it seems a bad year for sloes this year going with whats posted on here and sloe.biz forum . ive checked all local bushes i know and not a single sloe on them . they reckon the late frosts we had killed the blosson in spring and a bumper crop last year can mean a poor one this year . i made blackberry brandy and blueberry brandy last year which was nice , i might try some cherry recipies this year if i can find some . just wondering what others will be making instead ? Fatcatsplat
If all else fails, take a look at your local fruit and veg stall and see what fruit they have going cheap (Basically the riper the better) and see if they'll do you a deal. Drive By
I'm liking ginger and honey whisky at the moment. It's quicker to turn around than sloe gin and seems fairly popular. Although one heathen said it tasted a bit like medicine...
