kent
It dont matter what brand the rifle is a good load is a good load. Vhit N140 and bullets around about 150 grns and Lapua brass is a good starting point Seirra Gamekings for deer Lapua scenar for targets. Dont mess with COL too much with a factory gun its a waste of time just keep the rounds straight and true with good mag feeding
phaedra1106
The Vanguard is the same rifle as the Howa 1500, mine loves 41gr of Vit N140 (or TR140) and Nosler 168gr custom competition or Hornady 168gr A-Max Load to Saami spec at 2.8" OAL to start and see how it shoots, mine will take longer using the built in magazine but the conversion kit mags will only take 2.8". Harnser
A good load in my .308 is 45 grains of vit 140 with a 150 grain bullet . The book load is 47 and a half grains of powder . I like to down load slightly from the book ,and besides 45 grains are easier to load on my scales than 47 grains. This load will give you about 2800 feet per second and will cleanly kill anything you want to shoot in this country ,and many other countrys . Harnser .
