stuart21
Hi, I have a Parker Hale/Urgatechea that I am fond of and I shoot well with it. It is a SLE and has nice wood, however the barrels are starting to rust. Is it a possibility for me to change the barrels from a similar gun or would it be easier (and cheaper) to get the barrels fixed at a gunsmith? I am not sure what is best to do here, so any recommendations would be good. Thanks Stuart
Harnser
Where are the barrells rusting ? if on the outside then a reblacking will put it right at a cost of about £100 .If on the inside ,and depends to what degree they have rusted a good gun smith can lap the pitting out ,again depending on to what degree the pitting is at a cost of about £200 . To buy a new set of barrels for the gun would proberbly be more than the gun is worth . Harnser . Edited October 1, 2012 by Harnser
stuart21
Thanks Harnser! They are rusting on the outside, so probably better to get them reblacked.
BerettaSV10
Might be worth while contacting richardh on here as he does reblacking / blueing.
