O2 mobile charges

Had an account with O2 for some years now, I get the usual free phone each year as the contract comes up for renewal but this year I got a bit fed up with what I think are unreasonable charges. It's all about offering the new customer the best deal these days and while lip service is paid to the loyal long term user it doesn't amount to much. SO

This time around I looked at a few alternatives, none seemed great and the less expensive I had to doubt would have the same coverage. It became apparent that to change service provider and retain the same mobile phone number one needs to contact the existing supplier and get a "PAC" number ?

Phoned O2 for this number and was immediately asked why I needed it (as if they didn't know) So after a short explanation I was offered a better deal than I was currently getting, half price plus extra minutes and texts for the next year. I asked why I hadn't been offered this as a long standing customer and apparently "it is only available to peole who are otherwise going to change suppliers". Pretty poor if you ask me which is why I'm mentioning it here.

The moral of this story if you use O2 is to go ask for you PAC number and explain that you are thinking of changing to another service provider. Let us know how you get on !!!!

You ain't seen me...roight :good: :look: :whistling:

This policy extends to just about every service it seems.

When your car insurance is up for renewal and you get your quote, mention the cheaper quotes you have got (lie if necessary) and you will be told about their special discount offer for "valued customers".

Order fuel oil for the boiler, get their "best price", then tell them you can get it for 1p per litre less from ABC Fuels (lie again) and they will "price match" for a "loyal customer".

These are just two examples of many.

I tell more lies to Service Suppliers than Tom Pepper and he got kicked out of Hell for lying. :good:
