ack-ack
Ah right sorry rob, explain symptoms again please, is it loose or is it tight with loose spots, like every half turn a lump and then loose again? . Dunno what happened there? Just wiped my reply. Basically theres 5 inch of free play at the wheel and theres very little feel of what the fronts doing. MOst unnerving. Chuffing things spurting water all over the show now so the steering box is on the back burner!

Paul223
Yes you can run no thermo, steering have a look at the panarad rod bush, or get someone to shake whilst you check, it's the bush by steering box mounting Edited October 13, 2012 by Paul223

Its been flushed and bled twice and seems to do it of its own accord now. I'm gutted as its a W plate with 120k, solide as a rock and got great spec as its a special vehicles jobby. I'd hate to have to chop it in.

Paul223
Check coolant flow, pump impeller could be defunk, try removing one of the smaller hoses high up and run it, water should pump out
