Kennel Set Ups.

I'm just being nosey again. We're planning on getting kennels next year. It has to accommodate 4 dogs, two springer x's and 2 GSD x's. With two compartments and 1 run that can easily be partitioned (for when the dogs are eating). It will mainly be used for when they're eating, after walks and for those muggy summer nights, also for when I have to work long day shifts or need them out of the way for entertaining or cleaning.

So can I see pictures of your set ups just to give me some inspiration?

Also what flooring, bedding and any heating you have - thanks :)

I've found a couple of double kennels and runs on Ebay and I think as soon as we have a concrete base down we'll get one of those. They're not as big as I would like but the dogs will only be in them a few hours a day.

So what about bedding and flooring and heating?

Thanks :)

I have the chatworth 2. myself also You can get the removable centre section. I have ceramic heaters in the boxes but i dont believe in bedding. Heat is only used when it gets colder. Ensure your slab is a good amount oversize or it will crack when the frame legs are drilled or after a hard frost. if the dogs will sleep together you might want to consider one box without the divider as the boxes are a little oversize IMO. The ceramic heaters need guards an no wires should run inside, i fitted an outside electics box on the back outside a simple double switch inside that controls the heaters. Cable to the box should be armoured and on a separate fuse on the consumer unit
