mad1
hi all.. I have been messing with the 110 today and have come across a prob ?? It has a kenlow electric fan fitted to it but it's not turning on when it gets hot ?? I also noticed the fan is quite stiff to turn by hand ...is it poss to remove the fan assembly to try and free it up or could I put a switch on dash to turn it on manually ?? Any help gratefully received M1
theosmith
turn it on manually, when i had my disco i had twin fans and woulkd only ever turn them on in traffic or off roading i also removed the viscous fan as wastes fuel and power and less noisey
turbo33
Yes you can wire it in manually, but its a pain in the ***** as you will have to contantly watch the temp and you will neeed to fit a relay and fuse. It should be linked into the temperature sensor located in the rad and its usually these that pack up. Replace that and it should be fine. Its unlikely the motor has seized but possible, in which case its probably toast! Hope this helps. ScubaSparky
If you locate this temp sensor, take the 2 wire plug off it & link the 2 connectors inside it together i.e. Form a short circuit, this will be able to show if the fan is still working... ScubaSparky
Sorry mate im not 100% on the Landy engine & Kenlow Fan setup.... My comment was based on past experiences of cars, mainly Fords :-) Have you tried Google you may find a post/article on a Landrover forum, or does Kenlow have a website & customer service dept?
